Hi, I’m Simon Morgan! I’m a UGA student and ENRG Realty agent, and I’m so excited to give back to Scroggs—the school and community that gave me some of the best memories of my life.

If you look at this picture, you’ll see a fifth-grade version of me sitting on a wooden stool in my Scroggs classroom, the Sorting Hat placed squarely on my head. Around me, classmates leaned in with wide eyes as we waited for the verdict—Lerenden. In that instant, I wasn’t just a kid at school anymore. I was part of something bigger, a house with its own pride, energy, and traditions.
That moment captures what Scroggs meant to me: belonging, excitement, and the kind of magic that makes school unforgettable. It wasn’t just about lessons and grades—it was about community, character, and feeling like you mattered. Scroggs gave me those gifts, and they’ve shaped who I am to this day.
Leaving Scroggs Elementary was bittersweet. I carried with me not just memories of being sorted into Lerenden, but the confidence and curiosity my teachers had nurtured. At Culbreth Middle School, I made lifelong friends and met incredible teachers who inspired me to keep learning and growing. Those years quietly shaped who I was becoming.
High school at Carrboro was full of adventure and growth. I cheered at games, played lacrosse and golf, and built friendships that will last a lifetime. Serving as SGA treasurer and golf team captain taught me leadership, teamwork, and perseverance. Through it all, the lessons and spirit of Scroggs—friendship, confidence, and believing in yourself—guided me every step of the way, shaping not just my school years, but who I am today.
This past summer, after graduating from Carrboro High School, I dove headfirst into a new challenge: becoming a licensed real estate agent. I completed the 75-hour pre-licensing course with focus and dedication, mastering the ins and outs of the real estate industry and learning the skills necessary to guide clients confidently through one of life’s biggest decisions.
All that effort paid off when I passed the North Carolina Brokers Exam on my first attempt. Shortly after, I joined ENRG Realty, where I quickly began applying my knowledge to help clients buy and sell homes with professionalism and care. That summer wasn’t just about earning a license—it was about building the expertise, confidence, and dedication that allow me to serve my clients at the highest level today.
The Plan: Supporting Scroggs
I want to give back to Scroggs Elementary in a way that directly benefits the students, programs, and community that shaped me. By combining my work in real estate with my love for the school, I can create meaningful support for current and future Scroggs students.
For every home sale involving a current or former Scroggs family, teacher, staff member, or anyone connected to the school, 50% of my earnings will go directly to Scroggs. These funds will help provide supplies, support programs like Scroggwarts, improve facilities, and enhance the overall experience for students and staff alike.
I will also share stories and updates on social media to show the real impact of community contributions, while collaborating with the school board to ensure transparency and maximize awareness. Local outreach through flyers, posters, and announcements will help parents and alumni see how they can be a part of this initiative.
Donation Model: How Your Support Helps Scroggs
Even a single home sale can generate significant funds for the school. For example, a home sale of $1,000,000 could provide an estimated $12,000+ directly to Mary Scroggs Elementary School. Necessary expenses will be carefully managed so the donation has the greatest possible impact.
Every sale becomes more than a transaction—it’s a way for families to support the school that gave so much to me. Together, we can strengthen Scroggs, inspire community involvement, and make a lasting difference for the students who come after me.
How You Can Help:
Supporting Scroggs is simple and meaningful. If you are a current or former Scroggs family member, choosing me as your real estate agent for buying or selling a home ensures that a portion of my earnings goes directly back to the school.
You can also help by spreading the word—share this initiative with other families, friends, and alumni who care about Scroggs. Following and engaging with updates on social media will allow you to see the real impact of your support and celebrate the difference we’re making together.
Every small action contributes to a larger goal: providing resources, programs, and opportunities that enhance the experience for current and future students. By participating, you’re not just buying or selling a home—you’re investing in the community that gave so much to all of us.
I would love to connect with you and share more about how we can support Scroggs together. Whether you’re interested in buying or selling a home, have questions about the donation program, or just want to learn more about the initiative, please reach out!
